This same Althof Bergmann tin sleigh bed was shown in Flora Gill Jacobs last book “The Small World of Antique Doll’s Houses” on page 39, in the “Lift-Top Commode House” where she states that “this bed may be seen in the A B Catalog 1874”.
This bed has its original brown grain paint that shows its age with play wear, nicks and scratches. The bed is sturdy and has all 5 of the mattress slats attached. A newer handmade cotton mattress is included.
The bed measures 7 3/4” long, 4 1/2” wide, and 3 1/2” tall at the head and foot boards.
